Lili Sardiñas is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and a distinguished scholar in psychological support for first responders, parenting, health disparities, substance abuse, risk behaviors, gender, mental health, and organizational health. As Project Director at Grupo Nexos, she devises innovative strategies to tackle health disparities in Puerto Rico and the US through research. With almost two decades of experience in evidence-based practices, program development, and fieldwork in the island’s high-risk areas, her areas of expertise encompass implementation sciences, early childhood development interventions, wellness interventions, and leadership. She oversees the Digital Interamerican Archive on Programming and Practices-Based Evidence and Prevention, a premier Spanish digital database for evidence-based programs in Latin America, located at Grupo Nexos. Sardiñas obtained her clinical PhD in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in 2008, presenting a pioneering project validating the attitudes towards the surrogacy scale. This scale continues to be utilized internationally nearly two decades later. She participated in the Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse program (PAS) at Carlos Albizu University. Additionally, she is certified as an Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs (ATOD) Prevention Professional through SAMHSA’s Center for Substance Abuse Prevention Fellowship Program in Puerto Rico. She serves on the scientific staff of the Puerto Rico Evidence-Based Board, a group dedicated to enhancing lives through the design, testing, and implementation of improved policies in Puerto Rico.
